Objective
To develop the speed endurance capacity, RSA and conditioning. Also, 1v1's and finishing.
Description
The players are in 2 groups which starts on the coaches whistle. Each player should perform 6-8 repetitions. Rotate the servers after each round. They perform the following:
- 15 yard sprint and touch the mannequin (1)
- Check back to play a combination (of coaches choice) (2)
- Run around the mannequin to combine with the second server (3)
- Slalom through the poles (4)
- 1v1 to finish on goal (5) Coach will deliver a pass to attackers.
Coaching Points
1. Make sure it is competitive to ensure maximum intensity and speed. Can start without opposition and simply work finishing technique if you prefer.
2. Work through movements to ensure development of strength/endurance.
Questions
1. What can I do to gain successful positioning on my opponent?
2. If I gain possession, how can I evade my defender to successfully strike on target?

Objective
To develop functional speed endurance capacity in a crossing finishing activity with opposition.
Description
Player A (attacker) slaloms through the orange cones and Player B (defender) slaloms through the yellow cones on the coaches command. Their initial movements trigger Players C & D to check to the yellow cones and bend their runs into the designated area in front of the goal.
Player A is attempting to cut the ball back to the oncoming attackers.
Coaching Points
1. Working at maximum speed to create game like scenario (FB or Winger looking to get down the sideline) and cut a negative ball back into the shaded area.
2. Crosser needs to take a look before they cross.
3. Strikers need to time their runs and work on their finishing technique inside the penalty area.
Questions
1. How can I give my attackers success in the box?
2. What can I adjust to create successful scoring opportunities?

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Objective
To combine at full speed and finish on target with your feet and in the air.
Description
Action 1 - Player A passes to Player B
Action 2 - Player B sets up Player A with a one touch bounce pass.
Action 3 - Player A receives a pass at full speed, takes on the mannequin and strikes on target.
Action 4 - Player A loops back and sprints to tag Player B's hand.
Action 5 - Player B bends their run around the mannequin to receive an aerial ball from Player C (bottom left corner)
Action 6 - Player C delivers an under-hand toss to Player B who finishes on target.
Player B takes Player C's position after they collect their ball from the goal. Player C then makes his way to the opposite line in the bottom right corner.
Coaching Points
1. Speed of play both on and off the ball (running with the ball at full speed, one touch passes)
2. Connecting with all aerial balls with different parts of your body
Questions
1. How can we adjust to an aerial ball?
2. What should I do after I beat the mannequin?

Sprint, Cross and Finish (25 mins)
Description
To maximize the acceleration and sprint work within a crossing & finishing activity. The players will perform 2-3 sets of 6-8 repetitions.
Minimum 2 players per station as shown (A,B,C,D). There is 1 (feeder) who initiates the practice by passing to player A who moves forward to cross the ball in first time. Players B,C, and D sprint at max speed to try and score. At the same time, there are 3 players outside the area (1,2,3) who perform a 30 yard sprint before walking (recovery) to positions B,C and D.
Coaching Points
1. Players must work at maximum speed throughout all the different movements.
2. Triggers (bent run, diagonal runs, shape of the 3 in the box)
3. Timing of runs and technical quality when passing.
Questions to ask
1. When would I attack the ball in the box?
2. What initiates my bent run?
3. Do I use 1 or 2 touch to cross and why?
